Joy oh Joy operates as an online business. References to “Joy oh Joy”, “we”, “us”, or “our” mean the operator of the Joy oh Joy online store. References to “you”, “your”, “customer”, or “user” mean any person accessing our platforms, communicating with us, or placing an order.
By accessing our website, creating an account, submitting an order, making payment, approving customisation instructions, or purchasing through any of our sales channels, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions and the policies incorporated into them.
These Terms are subject to all mandatory consumer rights and other applicable laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict any right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
1. Scope of these Terms
These Terms apply to purchases made through:
- joyohjoy.shop;
- @joyohjoybhr on Instagram;
- WhatsApp or direct messaging;
- electronic payment links;
- any other authorised Joy oh Joy sales channel.
Any instructions, product details, prices, delivery arrangements, customisation approvals, or other terms agreed through written electronic communication form part of the relevant transaction.
In the event of an inconsistency between these Terms and a specific written agreement expressly issued by Joy oh Joy for a particular order, the specific written agreement will apply to that order, to the extent permitted by law.
2. Eligibility to purchase
You must be at least 21 years old to place an order independently.
A person under the age of 21 may use the website or place an order only with the knowledge, supervision, and approval of a parent or legal guardian.
Where a minor places an order, the parent or legal guardian will be regarded as having authorised the purchase and accepted responsibility for:
- the order;
- payment;
- delivery information;
- product suitability;
- compliance with product age restrictions;
- use of the purchased products.
We may request reasonable evidence of age, identity, authorisation, or payment ownership where necessary to prevent fraud or protect the parties to a transaction.
3. Customer accounts
Where account registration is available, you are responsible for:
- providing accurate and current information;
- protecting your username and password;
- restricting access to your account and devices;
- notifying us promptly of suspected unauthorised access;
- all activities conducted through your account, unless caused by our own fault.
You must not create an account using another person’s details without permission.
We may suspend, restrict, or close an account where we reasonably suspect:
- fraud or attempted fraud;
- unauthorised payment activity;
- abusive chargebacks;
- repeated refusal to accept confirmed orders;
- repeated submission of false claims;
- misuse of discounts or promotional codes;
- harassment or abuse;
- unlawful use of the website;
- breach of these Terms.
Where an account is restricted, any refund that is legally or contractually due will remain subject to the applicable refund process.
4. Products
Joy oh Joy may sell a variety of products, including:
- mugs and drinkware;
- toys;
- clothing and apparel;
- accessories;
- bags and backpacks;
- stationery;
- gifts;
- customised products;
- pre-order products;
- products sourced upon request;
- other lifestyle and gift products.
Products may be:
- ready-made;
- imported;
- obtained from third-party suppliers;
- manufactured by third parties;
- made or modified to order;
- original branded merchandise;
- unbranded merchandise;
- inspired by general themes or aesthetics;
- sold under different supply arrangements.
The nature, source, brand, specifications, and relevant limitations of each product will be stated in its description where applicable.
5. Product descriptions and images
We take reasonable steps to describe products accurately and display relevant specifications.
However, you acknowledge that:
- colours may appear differently depending on screen settings, lighting, photography, and device type;
- packaging may be updated or changed by the manufacturer or supplier;
- minor manufacturing variations may occur;
- dimensions may be approximate within reasonable manufacturing tolerances;
- handmade or customised items may contain minor natural variations;
- patterns and print placement may differ slightly;
- photographs may include props or display items that are not part of the product;
- packaging shown in images may not always be identical to the packaging received.
A difference will not automatically constitute a defect where it is minor, does not materially affect the product’s use, and remains consistent with the product description and normal manufacturing variation.
This clause does not limit your rights where the product is materially different from its description, defective, unsafe, or otherwise non-compliant with mandatory law.
6. Product suitability and customer responsibility
Before placing an order, you must review:
- the full product description;
- dimensions;
- material;
- size chart;
- age recommendation;
- compatibility information;
- care instructions;
- safety warnings;
- delivery classification;
- whether the product is a pre-order or customised item.
You are responsible for determining whether the product is suitable for your intended purpose, except where you have expressly informed us of a specific intended purpose and reasonably relied on our written recommendation.
General product photographs must not be used as a substitute for reading the written specifications.
7. Toys and age-restricted products
Toys and children’s products may contain age recommendations, assembly instructions, safety warnings, or supervision requirements.
The customer is responsible for:
- reviewing the stated age suitability;
- retaining and following all instructions;
- ensuring appropriate adult supervision;
- inspecting the product before use;
- preventing use by children outside the recommended age group;
- keeping small parts, packaging, cords, batteries, and other hazards away from children where applicable.
Joy oh Joy is not responsible for injury or damage caused by use contrary to the manufacturer’s warnings or instructions, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Availability
All products are subject to availability.
Adding a product to a shopping cart, submitting an enquiry, receiving an automated message, or beginning checkout does not reserve stock.
A submitted order reflects the customer’s commitment to purchase, but remains subject to:
- successful payment;
- stock verification;
- supplier availability;
- price verification;
- order acceptance;
- fraud and security checks;
- delivery feasibility.
We may reject or cancel an order before dispatch where:
- the product is unavailable;
- payment is unsuccessful or reversed;
- the price or description contains an obvious error;
- the order appears fraudulent;
- delivery cannot reasonably be completed;
- the customer has provided incomplete or inaccurate information;
- the order violates these Terms or applicable law.
Where we cancel a paid order for reasons not caused by the customer, we will refund the amount received for the cancelled item or order.
9. Order acknowledgement and acceptance
An automated order confirmation or message acknowledging receipt of your order confirms only that the order has been received.
Final acceptance occurs when Joy oh Joy:
- confirms acceptance in writing;
- begins sourcing or customising the product;
- dispatches the order; or
- otherwise expressly communicates that the order has been accepted.
We reserve the right to contact you to verify information before accepting or processing an order.
10. Prices and currencies
Our base prices are generally displayed in Bahraini Dinars.
The website may display or process prices in another currency depending on the customer’s location, payment provider, or selected currency setting.
Currency conversions may be:
- approximate;
- supplied by a third-party service;
- affected by payment provider exchange rates;
- subject to card issuer or bank fees.
Unless stated otherwise, the customer is responsible for:
- currency conversion charges;
- foreign transaction fees;
- bank fees;
- payment processor fees charged directly by the customer’s provider;
- customs duties and import charges.
Prices may be changed at any time before an order is accepted.
A price change will not ordinarily affect an accepted and fully paid order, except in the case of an obvious pricing error that a reasonable customer should have recognised.
11. Taxes
Bahraini Value Added Tax is not currently applied by Joy oh Joy unless it is shown at checkout or required by law.
If Joy oh Joy becomes legally required to collect VAT or another tax, the applicable tax may be added to prices or displayed separately.
International customers are responsible for any import tax, customs duty, local VAT, clearance charge, or similar amount imposed in the destination country.
12. Payment
Available payment methods may include:
- BenefitPay for customers in Bahrain;
- secure electronic payment links for customers in GCC countries or other approved locations;
- any additional method displayed at checkout.
Payment must be completed using an authorised payment method.
You confirm that:
- you are authorised to use the chosen payment method;
- the payment information is accurate;
- the funds are lawfully available;
- the transaction is not fraudulent.
We may withhold processing or dispatch until payment is successfully received and cleared.
If payment is later reversed, disputed, cancelled, or charged back without lawful justification, we may suspend the order, recover the products where legally permissible, restrict future purchases, and pursue any lawful remedy.
13. Deposits
Joy oh Joy does not ordinarily offer partial-payment arrangements unless expressly agreed in writing.
Where a deposit is exceptionally accepted:
- it reserves stock or authorises sourcing, procurement, production, or customisation;
- it is not refundable merely because the customer changes their mind;
- it may be refunded where the order cannot be fulfilled due to a problem attributable to Joy oh Joy;
- any refund remains subject to mandatory legal rights.
The applicable deposit amount and balance deadline will be communicated before payment.
14. Promotional offers
Discounts, promotional codes, gifts, and special offers:
- are subject to availability;
- may have stated conditions;
- may be limited by date, product, customer, location, or quantity;
- cannot be combined unless expressly stated;
- may be withdrawn before an order is accepted;
- have no cash value unless expressly stated.
Attempting to manipulate, duplicate, transfer, or unlawfully exploit a promotional offer may result in cancellation of the discount or order.
15. Pricing and technical errors
We may correct:
- obvious price errors;
- typographical errors;
- incorrect discounts;
- technical checkout errors;
- incorrect stock information;
- currency display errors;
- inaccurate promotional calculations.
Where an error is identified before fulfilment, we may:
- inform the customer and offer the correct price;
- allow the customer to cancel the affected item; or
- cancel and refund the affected item.
We will not be required to supply a product at a clearly erroneous price where the error was obvious or should reasonably have been apparent.
16. Order processing
Ready-stock orders are normally prepared within one to three days.
Processing time begins after:
- successful payment;
- receipt of complete order information;
- completion of any required verification;
- receipt of all customisation details, where applicable.
Processing time does not necessarily include:
- delivery time;
- Fridays or public holidays;
- supplier delays;
- customs clearance;
- periods during which the customer has not provided necessary information.
Processing and delivery estimates are not guaranteed deadlines unless Joy oh Joy expressly confirms a guaranteed deadline in writing.
17. Communications
You authorise us to contact you concerning:
- order confirmation;
- payment;
- delivery;
- address verification;
- product availability;
- customisation;
- complaints;
- refunds;
- security or fraud concerns.
Written communications through email, WhatsApp, Instagram direct messages, website chat, or other recorded electronic channels may form part of the transaction record.
A customer’s written confirmation, approval, instruction, or acknowledgement may be relied upon as evidence of the agreed transaction.
18. Customer conduct
You must communicate respectfully with our staff, suppliers, couriers, and representatives.
We do not tolerate:
- threats;
- harassment;
- discriminatory abuse;
- obscene or insulting communication;
- intimidation;
- knowingly false accusations;
- fraudulent complaints;
- attempts to obtain an unjustified refund;
- threats of harmful publicity for the purpose of obtaining money or benefits not lawfully due;
- misuse of chargebacks.
We take legitimate complaints seriously and will examine them fairly. However, making a complaint does not entitle a customer to retain a product without payment, obtain duplicate compensation, receive a refund where none is due, or impose losses on Joy oh Joy through false or exaggerated claims.
We may restrict communication to written channels, refuse future service, or cancel unfulfilled transactions where customer conduct becomes abusive, while preserving any mandatory rights and refunding any amount legally due.
19. Refusal of service
To the extent permitted by law, we may refuse or restrict service where reasonably necessary because of:
- safety;
- fraud prevention;
- sanctions or legal restrictions;
- repeated non-collection;
- repeated unjustified chargebacks;
- abuse of staff;
- misuse of promotional offers;
- breach of these Terms;
- inability to deliver to the provided location.
This right will not be exercised unlawfully or on a prohibited discriminatory basis.
20. Third-party services
Our website and operations may rely on third parties, including:
- payment gateways;
- banks;
- delivery companies;
- hosting providers;
- analytics providers;
- messaging platforms;
- customs authorities;
- suppliers;
- manufacturers.
We are not responsible for a third party’s independent systems, interruptions, exchange rates, policies, or actions beyond our reasonable control.
This clause does not exclude responsibility where the third party acts as our agent and applicable law makes us responsible for that conduct.
21. Website availability
We do not guarantee that the website or every feature will be continuously available or error-free.
We may suspend access for:
- maintenance;
- security;
- technical updates;
- system failures;
- events beyond our reasonable control.
We may change website content, product listings, and functionality without prior notice, provided that confirmed customer rights are not improperly affected.
22. Prohibited website use
You must not:
- use the website unlawfully;
- attempt to access restricted systems;
- introduce viruses or malicious code;
- scrape or extract content automatically without permission;
- impersonate another person;
- interfere with payment or checkout systems;
- submit false information;
- copy or reproduce protected content;
- attempt to bypass security controls;
- use bots to abuse promotions or stock availability;
- use our platforms to infringe third-party rights.
23. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, Joy oh Joy owns or is authorised to use the original content appearing on its website and social media, including:
- branding;
- logos;
- page layouts;
- photographs created for Joy oh Joy;
- graphics;
- videos;
- product arrangements;
- written descriptions;
- promotional materials;
- original designs.
You may not reproduce, publish, sell, modify, distribute, commercially exploit, or remove ownership notices from our content without prior written permission.
Product names, logos, characters, and trademarks belonging to third parties remain the property of their respective owners.
24. Independent retailer statement
Joy oh Joy is an independent online retailer.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Joy oh Joy is not:
- an authorised distributor;
- sponsored by;
- endorsed by;
- affiliated with;
- operated by
any third-party brand, entertainment studio, character owner, manufacturer, or trademark holder.
The display of a third-party name or mark may be used solely to identify, describe, or advertise a genuine product, subject to applicable law.
No relationship with a third party should be inferred unless expressly confirmed.
25. Customer content
Where you provide a photograph, design, logo, name, text, artwork, review, or other content, you confirm that:
- it is accurate where relevant;
- you own it or have permission to use it;
- it does not violate intellectual property rights;
- it does not violate privacy rights;
- it is not unlawful, defamatory, threatening, obscene, hateful, or misleading.
You agree to be responsible for claims arising from materials you supplied, to the extent that the claim resulted from your lack of authority, unlawful instruction, or breach of these Terms.
26. Reviews and public content
Customers may submit reviews where this feature is available.
Reviews must reflect genuine experience and must not contain:
- false statements;
- abusive material;
- private information;
- unlawful allegations;
- spam;
- undisclosed advertising;
- content unrelated to the product or service.
We may moderate or remove content that violates these standards.
Where a customer publicly posts or sends a review, photograph, video, or testimonial and gives consent for reposting, Joy oh Joy may use it for marketing purposes.
Private communications will not be published as testimonials without appropriate permission or lawful basis.
27. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- Joy oh Joy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss;
- Joy oh Joy will not be liable for lost profit, lost opportunity, or business interruption arising from a consumer purchase;
- Joy oh Joy’s aggregate contractual liability relating to an order will ordinarily not exceed the amount paid for the product or order giving rise to the claim.
These limitations do not apply to:
- fraud;
- wilful misconduct;
- death or personal injury where liability cannot be excluded;
- mandatory consumer rights;
- any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
28. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will be responsible for reasonable losses, claims, or costs directly resulting from:
- your unlawful use of our website;
- your infringement of third-party rights;
- fraudulent payment activity;
- inaccurate customisation materials supplied by you;
- your breach of these Terms.
This clause does not make a consumer responsible for losses caused by Joy oh Joy’s own breach, negligence, or unlawful conduct.
29. Force majeure
Joy oh Joy will not be treated as having breached an obligation where performance is prevented or materially delayed by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including:
- supplier or manufacturer disruption;
- international shipping disruption;
- customs delays;
- import restrictions;
- severe weather;
- natural disasters;
- fire;
- flood;
- epidemic or pandemic;
- governmental action;
- border closure;
- war or civil disturbance;
- labour dispute;
- courier disruption;
- payment network outage;
- internet or telecommunications failure;
- unexpected shortage of materials.
Where such an event occurs, we may extend the performance period, offer an alternative, or cancel and refund the unfulfilled portion where continued fulfilment becomes impracticable.
30. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be applied to the maximum lawful extent or severed where necessary.
The remaining provisions will continue in effect.
31. No waiver
A delay or failure by Joy oh Joy to enforce a right does not amount to a permanent waiver of that right.
Any waiver must be clear and limited to the particular matter for which it was given.
32. Transfer
You may not transfer your contractual rights or obligations relating to an order without our written approval.
Joy oh Joy may assign operational obligations to delivery providers, payment processors, suppliers, or successors, provided this does not unlawfully reduce the customer’s rights.
33. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms periodically.
The version applicable to an order will generally be the version available when the order is submitted, unless:
- a legal change requires immediate application;
- the customer expressly agrees to a later version;
- the amendment does not reduce existing contractual rights.
The latest revision date will be displayed on this page.
34. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and all transactions with Joy oh Joy are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain, including applicable provisions of Bahraini civil and consumer protection law.
Subject to any mandatory jurisdiction available to a consumer, the courts of the Kingdom of Bahrain will have jurisdiction over disputes connected with these Terms or an order.
35. Language
The website may provide automatic or optional Arabic translation.
Where Joy oh Joy publishes both an approved Arabic version and an English version, the Arabic version will prevail in the event of a conflict, to the extent permitted by law.
Automated translation is provided for convenience and may not reproduce legal wording perfectly.
36. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the following policies, form the agreement between Joy oh Joy and the customer:
- Shipping and Delivery Policy;
- Returns and Refunds Policy;
- Pre-Order Policy;
- Custom Orders Policy;
- Warranty and Defective Products Policy;
- Privacy Policy;
- any specific written terms issued for the order.
COMPLAINTS AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION POLICY
Last Updated: 5 August 2026
1. Our approach
Joy oh Joy is committed to treating legitimate customer concerns seriously, respectfully, and fairly.
We understand that problems may occasionally arise involving:
- delivery;
- product condition;
- customisation;
- payment;
- warranty;
- pre-orders;
- service communication.
We will review each complaint on its own facts and consider the evidence provided by both the customer and our internal records.
Our commitment to fair complaint handling does not require Joy oh Joy to:
- accept unsupported allegations;
- issue refunds without a contractual or legal basis;
- bear losses caused by inaccurate customer information;
- compensate a customer more than once for the same issue;
- approve claims involving misuse or customer-caused damage;
- accept intimidation, abuse, or fraudulent evidence.
Fairness applies to both the customer and Joy oh Joy.
2. How to submit a complaint
Complaints should be submitted through:
- Email: joyohshop@gmail.com
- WhatsApp: +973 3708 3708
The complaint should include:
- order number;
- customer name;
- contact information;
- full description of the issue;
- date of delivery;
- photographs and videos;
- opening video where relevant;
- requested resolution.
3. Response period
We aim to provide an initial response within three business days after receiving a complete complaint.
An initial response may:
- resolve the complaint;
- request further evidence;
- confirm that an inspection is needed;
- explain the next step.
A complex complaint may require more time, particularly where a supplier, courier, manufacturer, or technical inspector must be contacted.
4. Customer cooperation
The customer must reasonably cooperate by:
- providing accurate information;
- retaining the product;
- retaining packaging;
- supplying evidence;
- making the product available for inspection;
- avoiding modification or further use where it may worsen the issue.
Failure to cooperate may prevent a reliable decision.
5. Good-faith resolution
Before beginning formal proceedings, both parties are encouraged to attempt an amicable resolution.
Possible resolutions may include:
- clarification;
- correction;
- delivery completion;
- repair;
- replacement;
- refund;
- partial refund;
- another mutually agreed solution.
Attempting settlement does not waive Joy oh Joy’s legal rights and does not require either party to accept an unreasonable proposal.
6. Protection against abusive claims
Joy oh Joy may reject a claim where reliable evidence establishes that it is:
- fraudulent;
- deliberately misleading;
- duplicated;
- based on customer-caused damage;
- based on a product different from the one supplied;
- supported by manipulated evidence;
- an attempt to retain both the product and a full refund without lawful basis.
Where fraud is reasonably suspected, relevant information may be preserved and provided to payment providers, advisers, insurers, or competent authorities.
7. Chargebacks
Customers should contact Joy oh Joy first to allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue.
Filing a dishonest or knowingly false chargeback may constitute a breach of these Terms.
Joy oh Joy may provide transaction records, delivery evidence, messages, approvals, photographs, and other relevant information to the payment provider in response to a chargeback.
Nothing in this clause prevents a customer from exercising a lawful right to dispute an unauthorised or genuinely unresolved transaction.
8. Applicable law
Complaints and disputes are governed by Bahraini law.
If an amicable resolution cannot be reached, either party may exercise any right available through the competent authorities or courts of the Kingdom of Bahrain, subject to applicable jurisdiction rules.
